Spinning Off for Moving On

Having previously served on the Board and currently as an officer, I have repeatedly heard NSCSS members say we need to have conference committee that is responsible for the annual meeting, not the President-Elect.  The effort to put on the annual meeting is a huge, ranging from obtaining speakers, arranging meeting rooms and deciding menus.  It's a lot of responsibility for one person -- especially the person that is about to be the organization's CEO.  I would like to hear from past officers, board members, and other members how NSCSS might consider re-delegating this responsibility and others to improve society progress with increased member participation (often amounting to only a few hours every month or two).
